Our Philosophy

Our training philosophy is based on relationships and trust. I recognize that each dog requires its own strategy and is unique. Customization is key. Some dogs respond with more treats and less pressure, while others are the opposite or somewhere in between. If you don’t build up trust and a strong bond with your dog, you’ll never get the results you desire.
Sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin.
We always begin with an assessment for new clients to ensure that we’re a good match on each side and we can help you reach your training goals using the methods you are most comfortable with.

What are my goals as a trainer?

  • Ensure less dogs surrendered to shelters or euthanized because of 'bad' behaviors

  • Reducing stress and chaos in peoples lives with their dogs

  • Building people's confidence with their dog is an incredible process to watch and be a part of.

Don’t take my word for it!

“We were looking for puppy training that would be more then just teaching tricks for our 5 month old rescue. Vanessa's training was just that! We learnt how to teach basic commands, leash manners, recall, impulse control, work on socializing skills, and find an effective way to deal with our pups energy that used to show up as jumping and nipping for attention. Vanessa provided a variety of approaches, set up weekly goals, and gave us the tools to be successful. We highly recommend Vanessa's training program. Our puppy is confident and obedient because of her! A million thanks!
